Simple Present Tense

 

 

For habitual and regular actions.

 

For truths.

 

For news headlines.

 

For past actions (while telling about any matter)

 

While using these words – daily, every day, every morning, every night.

 

 

 

 

Present Continuous Tense

 

For doing actions in the present.

 

While using these words – now

 

 

 

 

 

 

Present Perfect Tense

 

For completed actions in the present.

 

While using these words – just now, recently.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Past Perfect Continuous Tense

 

For doing actions in the present which were started in the past and being continued till now.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Simple Past Tense

 

For completed actions in the past.

 

While using these words - Yesterday, day before yesterday, last week, last month, last year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Past Continuous Tense

 

For doing actions in the past which were being done in a particular time.

 

 

While using these words – at this time yesterday, at this time day before yesterday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Past Perfect Tense

 

For completed actions in the past when two actions were completed(happened).  

 

 

 

 

 

Past Perfect Continuous Tense

 

For doing actions in the past which were started and being continued in the past till start another action.

For future actions which we will do in the future.

 

 

While using these words – tomorrow, day after tomorrow, next week, next month.

 

 

 

 

Future Continuous Tense

 

For doing actions in the future which will be being done in the particular time in the future.
